Public Health Concerns

According to ncbi, Public health is concerned with disease prevention and control at the population level, through organized efforts and informed choices of society, organizations, public and private communities and individuals. However, the role of government is crucial for addressing these challenges and achieving health equity. These include alcohol & tobacco consumption, addiction & rehabilitation, HIV, eating disorders & obesity, teenage pregnancies & unwanted abortions, among others. Alcohol consumption is the world’s third largest risk factor for disease and disability and is associated with many serious socio-economic issues, including violence, child neglect and abuse, and absenteeism at the workplace. Almost 10-15% of people with alcohol related problems commit suicide which is markedly high as compared to general population. Tobacco consumption, on the other hand, is considered to be the most easily preventable risk factor for premature death in the world, and yet, in developing countries like India, the consumption of cigarettes is continuing to increase. The project aims to cover misinformation around similar areas under Public Health Concerns
